Import Template Guidelines¶

When importing data into GDX using a spreadsheet, the following apply:

• Use the templates found in the Online Help. They are formatted properly for import.
• The Excel format must be in .xls format (not .xlsx).
• All cells must be formatted as text. To confirm, choose the all the cells, go to Format Cells and confirm the number format is Text.
• Be careful to avoid extraneous whitespace before and after entries, e.g. remove trailing whitespace from items such as "Acme Manufacturing ".
• Remove any data filters or freeze panes.
• Remove all blank rows. <ctrl-End> should go to the last row with data.
