Linking Parts¶

Linking establishes a permanent connection between your part and the corresponding supplier part in GDX. Once linked, you have access to the information on the supplier part as well as updates to that part in the future.

Step 1¶

To link a part:

1. From the Parts view, choose one or more parts to link by checking the select boxes.
2. Click Link

Step 2¶

1. Search for the supplier part:
   1. If the manufacturer name is not present, begin typing the manufacturer name of the part. You will be presented with a dropdown list of matching items. Choose the manufacturer (to have the manufacturer name pre-populated, see the topic Mapping Suppliers).
   2. Enter the part number, or a portion of the part number. Leave the part number blank to show all parts from this manufacturer. Or, enter a '*' wildcard character, e.g. "TBHK100*"
2. Click Search

Step 3¶

1. Select one of the parts shown by clicking the Select radio button.
2. Click Link. Your part is now linked to the selected supplier part.
